Split-Apart Cubes

Modular gear racks designed for ultimate versatility. Standalone or coupled, these cubes adapt to your changing project needs.

Bigfoot Split-Apart Cubes modular rack system

Modular by Design, Limitless by Nature

The Bigfoot Split-Apart Cubes represent a fundamentally different approach to mobile workstation design. Each cube is a self-contained gear rack module that can operate standalone or be coupled with other cubes to create exactly the system you need. All cubes share the same width and length, but vary in rack height and function — so you can stack, combine, and reconfigure as your projects evolve. Standard 19" rack style ensures compatibility with all your professional equipment.

Ideal For

Split-Apart Cubes are the most flexible option in the Bigfoot lineup, designed for teams that need modularity and easy transport above all else.

Flypack Production

The Split-Apart Cubes were designed with flypack production in mind. Each cube ships individually in a road case, passes through standard doorways, and fits in elevators. At the venue, cubes couple together to form a complete production system. When the event ends, they decouple and ship separately. This is the preferred solution for production companies that fly equipment to events across the country or internationally.

Corporate & Enterprise

Corporate AV departments that support multiple office locations benefit from the modular approach. Configure three cubes for a large town hall, then split them apart and send one cube to each of three regional offices for smaller events. The same equipment investment serves multiple use cases, adapting to the organization's changing event needs without requiring separate systems for every scenario.

Touring & Sports

Touring productions and sports broadcasters that move between venues weekly need equipment that travels efficiently. Split-Apart Cubes pack flat in road cases, stack in standard freight, and reassemble quickly at each new venue. The modular design means you can scale the system up or down depending on the venue size and production requirements of each individual event.

Education & Multi-Campus

Universities and school districts with multiple campuses can share equipment across locations by shipping individual cubes where they are needed. A media department can configure a full production system for a large campus event, then redistribute individual cubes to different buildings or campuses for smaller, independent production work throughout the academic year.

Common Configurations

Split-Apart Cubes can be configured as standalone units or combined into complete production systems. Here are popular approaches.

FLY

Flypack Production System

A three-cube flypack configuration for touring broadcast production. Cube one houses the production switcher and control surface. Cube two contains replay, graphics, and routing. Cube three provides audio mixing, streaming, and power distribution. Each cube ships in its own road case, assembles at the venue in under an hour, and creates a complete mobile control room that rivals permanent installations.

HUB

Modular Streaming Hub

A two-cube streaming configuration for corporate and education environments. Cube one contains the streaming encoder, video switcher, and PTZ camera controller. Cube two holds audio processing, recording, and network infrastructure. Use both cubes together for large events, or deploy cube one standalone for simple single-camera streams. The modular approach maximizes the return on your equipment investment.

POD

Standalone Utility Cubes

Individual cubes functioning as standalone utility racks. A single cube can serve as a dedicated audio rack, a graphics station, a streaming encoder pod, or a power distribution hub. Multiple standalone cubes can be deployed independently across different rooms or venues, then brought together and coupled when a larger production requires the full system. This is the ultimate in flexible equipment allocation.

Why Choose Split-Apart Cubes

Split-Apart Cubes solve the fundamental tension between production capacity and transport logistics. Here is when they are the right choice.

01

Fits Through Any Door

Each individual cube is small enough to fit through standard single doorways, into elevators, and through narrow corridors. This solves the access problem that larger models like the Double Rack or Double Rack XL face in buildings with limited access points. If your venue has tight access, Split-Apart Cubes get your equipment where it needs to be.

02

Scalable by Design

No other Bigfoot model scales like the Cubes. Start with one cube for a basic setup, add a second when your needs grow, and combine three or more for full production capability. The same width and length across all cubes ensures they always couple together regardless of individual rack height. Your system grows with your production needs without replacing any existing equipment.

03

Optimized for Shipping

Individual cubes fit in standard road cases and stack efficiently in freight. This makes them dramatically cheaper to ship than full-size carts, especially for air freight. Production companies that ship equipment to events nationally or internationally save thousands per year in shipping costs compared to transporting equivalent-capacity Double Rack systems.

04

Maximum Flexibility

Use them together or apart. Stack them, couple them side-by-side, or deploy them individually across different locations. No other model in the Bigfoot lineup or any competitor's catalog offers this level of configuration flexibility. When your production needs change frequently, Split-Apart Cubes adapt without any modification or additional investment.
